The Australian Self Medication Industry (ASMI) extends its most sincere condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late Dr Stewart Jessamine.

Dr Jessamine was a truly remarkable person - decent, fair, reasonable and open-minded. A model regulator and a pleasure to work with. His engagement and genuine nature meant that he had respect, and friends, across the ditch.

Dr Jessamine will be missed and his distinguished service, plus legacy of years of work and reform, will no doubt be remembered for many years to come.

Dr Stewart Jessamine was employed at the New Zealand Ministry of Health from 1993 until 2018. He held many roles, including Group Manager of Medsafe and the Director of Protection Regulation & Assurance Health Division.
