Consumer Healthcare Products Australia today offers congratulations to Juliet Seifert, former Executive Director of the Australian Self Medication Industry (ASMI). She has been honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honour Roll for her services to the pharmaceutical and therapeutic goods sector and has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia.
Juliet headed up ASMI (now known as Consumer Healthcare Products Australia) for 21 years until her retirement in 2010. She is well known for her tireless and energetic contribution to the healthcare sector.
Deon Schoombie, CEO of Consumer Healthcare Products Australia (CHP Australia) commented that “Juliet was the best mentor anyone could wish for. She left the association well prepared for the future and she solidified the position of the non-prescription medicines industry as a credible and important partner in the national health policy debate. We congratulate Julie for this very special honour.”
Lindsay Forrest, Chair of CHP Australia paid tribute to Juliet noting that “Juliet was a truly amazing CEO for Consumer Healthcare Products Australia (in its former names PMAA and ASMI). She tirelessly drove this industry’s agenda over many years and was hugely responsible for where we are today. One of her most significant successes was her central role and drive in the setting up of the National Medicines Policy. I’m delighted Juliet has been recognised with the Order of Australia Medal”.
