MC: Helen Dalley, Australian Journalist

Helen Dalley is one of Australia's most experienced and highly respected journalists and interviewers. Helen is an award-winning television journalist as a reporter, interviewer, and presenter on the Nine Network for two decades.

She is Host of Sunday Business, on Sky News, as well as Business View on Sky News Business Channel. She co-hosted Sky News' 2007 Federal Election coverage, from the Tally Room in Canberra.

Helen was a senior reporter, and alternate host on the well-regarded, agenda-setting Sunday program for 16 years. Helen was also a founding member of the Nine Network's Business Sunday as a reporter and occasional presenter. As a finance journalist she interviewed many CEO's, economists and senior politicians about the economy, the Budget, and a variety of business issues. She has also played a major role in Nine's live coverage of both Federal and State Elections, as a facilitator and panel interviewer.

Guest speaker: Dr Nick Coatsworth, Physician

Dr Nick Coatsworth is a leading expert in health policy, public administration, and a practising infectious diseases physician. As Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic, he became one of the nation019s most recognised medical spokespeople, leading the national vaccination campaign and engaging millions of Australians through media and public communication.

Nick has extensive leadership experience in medicine and crisis response. He was Executive Director of the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre in Darwin, where he led Australian Medical Assistance Teams to the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan, and oversaw deployments to Vanuatu and Fiji following Cyclones Pam and Winston. He also trained field staff for Ebolavirus treatment ahead of the 2014/15 epidemic.

Earlier in his career, Nick worked as a field doctor with Mdecins Sans Frontires in the Republic of Congo, Chad, and Darfur, later becoming President of the Australian Section and serving two terms on its Board. He has also held a board role with CareFlight, one of Australia019s leading aeromedical organisations.

Today Nick is completing a doctoral thesis on health and foreign policy decision-making at the Australian National University, where he is also a Clinical Associate Professor, teaching the next generation of medical professionals
